As of April 2, 2012, this blog became the place for documenting our New Adventure called Breast Cancer. Basically it's all about our Cancer ParTay.
As of Oct 2013- our 18 month Survivor mark- the ParTay's pretty much over. Treatments are done, my hair is back and I am healthy & cancer-free!
As of today- I want you to know that the trick to living a happy, healthy and wonderful life in the future is to remember where we've been, what we've learned and how much we've been blessed! That's exactly what I hope you find here.

Herceptin #7

Since I decided to keep doing Herceptin for the time being, today was another day! Wow- three weeks sure fly by fast! Oh Lucky me! LOL For the record though- besides 1- the price [a nice $5200+ a pop- ouch!], 2- the possible effects it can have on my heart [I haven't had any problems yet. Cross your fingers] and 3- the hours it takes to get it done (even if they tell you it's only a 30 minute drip Ha!)- Herceptin for me, hasn't been that bad.
I got to meet a new nurse today, Toni. So fun to add someone else to my TEAM SHAY roster! (Not that I don't already love my team as it is by the way!) She was very friendly and we got to chat for a bit. She thought being part of my team was way exciting! Love it!
She got my IV in on the first try. She gets bonus points for that! But my poor left hand/arm has been used and abused these last two days so we tried it in a different spot. It didn't hurt but it felt way awkward having it there. I know- I'm a whiner! LOL
The Massage Therapist Arlene came by and offered me a massage. Yeah! I had her do my shoulders cuz we all know what the foot one did to me last time. Let's avoid that if possible! LOL It was so relaxing. Yeah for me! Thanks Arlene!
I opted to not borrow the iPad this time and got lots of over-due thank you cards written. It was nice to be chained still so I could do that. I have lots of people to be thankful to these days! ;)
Finally, my favorite volunteer, Becky was there again. We've visited several times over the last couple months. She is a fellow Breast Cancer Survivor. I just love her! She is always coming around with a plate of treats for everyone. We have had a great time getting to know each other. This may be the last time I see her because she just does it for the summer. ;( Good Luck, Becky with the upcoming Winter and your daughter's move! Wish you the best!
And as a side note- the whole process only took me 2 hours today! Yeah. I thinks that's a record for me!
Thanks to the Gills for keeping Glory for me! You're awesome!
